Since last September 28th, the National University of La Plata (UNLP) has become part of the RIACI (Ibero-American Academic Network of International Cooperation), which constitutes a community of training and research in international cooperation in the Ibero-American Sphere of Knowledge. This community is made up of universities and institutes that offer post-graduate and research programs on international cooperation in the Ibero-American region, and relates, simultaneously, in fundamental activities with other actors who intervene in the definition of the international cooperation politics.

In this way, the UNLP, together with other academic entities, contributes to consolidate a field of training and research in international cooperation in the Ibero-American Sphere of Knowledge. Within its objectives, this Network aims at strengthening training offers related to international cooperation, promoting room for debate and academic exchange that will generate specific knowledge about international cooperation in Ibero-America as well as favoring dialogue between universities and other actors who intervene in the definition of the international cooperation politics, and also contributing, from the academic perspective, to the creation of knowledge that will impact on the definition of the international cooperation politics.

It is worth noting that the RIACI has the support of the SEGIB and the OEI (Ibero-American States Organization). Moreover, it has a close relation with the Ibero-American heads of international cooperation that integrate the Program of Sur-Sur Cooperation Strengthening and other platforms of international cooperation.
