Resources
The heritage of the International Cooperation Agency is knowledge, a resource of great significance in our University. On the one hand, the generation of knowledge confined to the academic-scientific setting has been vastly recognized to such an extent that the UNLP is placed among the main universities of Spanish America (http//www.scimagoir.com). We are also recognized for counting on a vast experience in transferring knowledge and services, in the hard exact and natural sciences and in social and artistic areas.
By means of a specific and complete database, the Agency keeps the record of the abilities and knowledge available in each one of the 17 schools and the 141 Investigation and Development Centers that form the National University of La Plata.
The ability to design, plan, manage, coordinate, control and evaluate the results of complex projects with significant social value –the ability of the Department of Institutional Relations- is added to the quality and diversity of knowledge resources generally not available in other types of organizations. Consequently, the International Cooperation Agency of the National University of La Plata has high potential ability to satisfactorily accomplish the mission entrusted.
Financing
The payment of international development cooperation projects is planned by means of the financing resources available by the national and international bodies that foster these actions.
In order to obtain funds in an efficient way, we are planning to develop actions to cover at least the three necessary conditions to such purpose:
- Detection of problematic needs which can be categorized as of high economic and social sensitivity due to their impact.
- Design and formulation of viable, innovative projects, which are strongly based on values and knowledge that characterize our University. Regarding the design and formulation of projects, special emphasis will be given to participation and commitment of the beneficiary counterpart.
- Projects shall be backed up by internationally prestigious bodies (Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Argentina, Embassy of the beneficiary country, other Embassies or Consular Representations of relevant countries, etc.).
