Action Areas

In order to comply with its mission, the Agency prioritizes the problems related to food, health, environment, poverty, agricultural development, economic and social development, disasters. It prioritizes its actions in Latin American countries without neglecting other regions.

Functions

To comply with its mission, the Agency is responsible for implementing the following actions, among others:- Detect and get in touch with countries which are vulnerable to those issues the Agency deals with, with potentiality to overcome such problem or minimize negative consequences by means of an ad hoc project.
- Request different specific bodies (World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Cooperation Agencies and Entities of the European Economic Community, etc) financing resources to economically facilitate the future project.
- Design and formulate the cooperation project, the differentiating element of which will be the use of the knowledge and experiences available in the University setting. If necessary, experts will be incorporated for specific topics; all these will be operated as a network with the necessary management, coordination and control assumed by the University.
- Submit the project to obtain the required financing. In order to obtain the specific funds in an efficient way, apart from the quality of the project, it will be backed up by different entities (Argentine Foreign Ministry, Education Ministry, Embassies accredited in the Republic of Argentina, etc.).
- Manage and control the project in its technical, economic and quality aspects.
- Assess –with the counterpart- the project impact and results at the same time of its implementation. Once it is completed, the obtained results will be evaluated and published.
- Develop and maintain strategic alliances with key agents of the International Cooperation: Embassies, Foreign Representations, Cooperation Agencies, Multilateral Bodies, International Foundations, Universities, National and Centers for National and International Studies and Research.
- Generate information regarding development cooperation and offer it to relevant organizations.
