South-South Cooperation

The South-South Cooperation is defined as a process that takes place in conditions of equality and diversity, ensuring the harmonization of interests of each party, establishing a relation that also considers interculturalism to be a key and enriching element to meet set goals.
In this regard, it is worth noting that the National University of La Plata has had successful experiences in technical international cooperation, due to the more than 25 years of interaction with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), both receiving and providing triangular cooperation, as well as with the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The results we have obtained in the design and execution of a project of international cooperation involving three countries are good examples of this participation.
The Center of Diagnosis of Animal Health, under the authority of the SENASA of Peru, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) together the UNLP and the MRECIC for Argentina took part in this project. It aimed to improving the animal health system of Peru as regards diagnosis, monitoring, and quality control of  products and university extension (click here for more information).
